Bodies of Water is a collaboration and exchange between Lois Alexander and Future of Dance Company Nigeria. The film plays with time, memory and the inscriptions of bodies throughout the African diaspora. It is a retelling of the water spirit, Yemoja, and uses embodied knowledge as access to a specific cultural archive that circulates memories and visions at the same time. The film Bodies of Water connects the echoes of past, present and future with hybrid forms of black expressivity.
