George was motivated by the killing of George Floyd in May, 2020 and the global reaction to this horrifying display of racial brutality. The work explores a central motif of physical confinement in the form of two dancers interconnected as one body in motion. This visual metaphor, captured from multiple perspectives, is designed to explore the physical manifestations of race relations, both in terms of how we hurt each other and how we care for each other.
